A (very) brief CV

1968: Born in London
1979-1986: KCS Wimbledon.  Cleaver Prize for German (1986), Rothschild Prize for French (1987)
1987-1991: University of Manchester, Russian and German: Walters Scholarship for Languages (1988), 1st Class BA Hons (1991),
1991-1993: School of Slavonic Studies, University of London: Master’s Degree in Russian Language & Literature
1993-1995: Barclays de Zoete Wedd, London: Worked in the areas of corporate finance, equity capital markets, and derivatives.
1995-2000: Lots of things in London, with no great success: I started up an import business, managed a chain of retail credit institutions, and worked as headhunter, among other career cul-de-sacs.
2001: Started as a freelance translator.
2002: Diploma from Institute of Linguists.
2002-2005:  Translator with Credit Suisse, Zurich. Promoted to Senior Translator (2004).
2005-date:  Freelance translator, editor and trainer, based in London
